Flats along Cantonment Road
In the 1960s, 2 blocks of each 10 stories Housing & Development Board flats were built on this land parcel. Today, 7 blocks of each 50 stories Housing & Development Board flats stands in place of what stands during the 1960s. Some rough images does appears in my mind as I look back to those bus trips I had from school back home. The bus will ply along the old National Library building which has a food centre nearby (today replaced by a huge road tunnel), and also the original 2 blocks of each 10 stories flats along Cantonment Road.
Today the bus still ply along these roads, but the sight is no more the same. How time flies. These 50 stories tall structures that stands along Cantonment Road are named as The Pinnacle @ Duxton. It does looks interesting at various angles, but sadly, it has little resemblance to what I had in my memories of the 1990s (the original 10 stories flats still stands during the 1990s).
This was taken in 2009, chanced upon it a few days ago, and does felt that this is quite an interesting angle with the various kind of similar but different grey sun shades. I know I have been neglecting this space for quite a while...but it's not a forgotten place.
