That touristy angle
I believe many would agree that the view of the Singapore River and Raffles Place from the Elgin Bridge can be considered as a common touristy spot.
Despite it being so common, I seldom find myself snapping around this area. If you do try browsing through every single entry in this blog, I'm pretty sure you will find less than 10 entries of this particular view. I'm not 100% sure, but I'm pretty sure.
Through the years, the view had changed. The change spans through a long time, as far back as when it was a port, to the major clean-up in the '70s, to the continuous development of the business district. I believe changes aren't going to stop.
There seems to be something from this view that makes it so familiar to one's eyes, regardless of how much it had changed and is still changing. Perhaps it has to do with the 'belly shaped' river. Perhaps it's the outline created by the restored shop-houses. Perhaps it's the outline of some major buildings that stood facing the river since the 1970s, such as OCBC Tower (1970s) and former OUB Centre (1980s). Perhaps it's the Elgin Bridge. Or perhaps it's just the combination of everything.
That day, I finally found myself there with the feeling of trying to click a few clicks of the view. It was quite late, and not all building's light were switched on. Nevertheless, I am satisfied with what I was able to achieve with what I had with me during that time.

...or portrait view?
