Things comes, things goes
Do you ever wonder how many years would the Marina Barrage stay as it is before a major change comes about?
Suddenly I do wonder. Do you recall the days whereby Marina South was a steamboat, bowling, arcade and kite flying place with its large lush green land and a few low rise buildings scattered around the vicinity? I think those stuff stayed for less than 20 years.
Today, take the bus/taxi or drive to the Marina Barrage, and the trip will bring you through twist and turns which are here today and diverted very soon. Look around, and you see a messy scene, one that is so different when you compare it against what was there 5 years ago.
I cannot deny that the former developments was for interim use as the land Marina South sits on is reclaimed, thus time is needed for it to settle before larger plans can take place.
If you do make a trip there, can you spot the original concrete park signage that writes 'Marina City Park' on your way to the barrage?...strangely until now nothing is done to this signage when behind it sits the new Gardens by the Bay, which is scheduled to open in June 2012. Hopefully nothing is done to the signage, so that it will remind everyone what was there before? And if you do try doing a search of 'Marina City Park' on the search engines, there are still directions available to direct you there when it's no more there!
Alright, good nights.
